Another Creative Outlet for Writers, Artist, etc.
For all you artsy left-brained folks out there in the blogosphere, here is another outlet for your creativity. Check out Creative Every Day...
This weekly check-in post is a place for Creative Every Day Challenge participants to share their creative activities.
Join in the Challenge: You can now sign-up for the 2012 Challenge here!
Ways to share: Once you've signed up, you can leave a comment on this post and/or use the "Mr. Linky" widget below to link to a blog post(s) about your creative activities during the days of 7/23/12 - 7/29/12.
The widget below is an optional method of sharing your creativity that makes it easier for others to check out what you're up to. You can use it to link to a blog post (or posts) or flickr image during the week listed. Or if you have a bunch of posts and don't want to link to all of them, you can link to your main blog page once. Do it in a way that makes sense and is fun for you! If you're unsure about how to use the widget, check out the "How to use the Mr. Linky widget" section on the Creative Every Day Challenge page. (If you're reading this in a RSS reader or email subscription, you will not see the "Mr. Linky widget", so click on over to theblog to use it.) If the Mr. Linky widget is missing from this blog post, it's probably a problem with their server and it will come back as soon as it's fixed. You can always leave your link in the comments.
You can also take advantage of the great CED flickr group to post your images and see what others are up to. If you're on Twitter, you can use the hashtag #CED2012!
Theme: The (totally optional) theme for July is Round, which you can read more here.
Happy Creating!

I'm in LOVE
A Work in Process |
The Artist at Work |
Step Two will take awhile...it is a large canvas, and after about fifteen minutes the artist loses interest.
Here is my selected quote from Love Sonnet XVII by Pablo Neruda
“I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you, so intimate that your hand upon my chest is my hand, so intimate that when I fall asleep your eyes close.”
― Pablo Neruda, 100 Love Sonnets
Still a Work in Process |
What in your life can you say you are in love with? Write about it! What does it mean to you...what would your life would be without it...OR use Pablo Neruda's quote and create something with it.

A Picture Inspires a Thousand Words: June 25, 2012
Writing Prompt
Think of this abstract painting as if it were a cloud in motion. Now, lets play the time honored "what do you see in the clouds" game, but apply it to this painting. What do you see when you look at this abstract? Does it remind you of anything? Do the colors speak to you?

Writing Prompt June 22, 2012
In order to rise
From its own ashes
A phoenix
First
Must
Burn.
From its own ashes

Writing Prompt
What would we find in the ashes of your phoenix? What has been reborn out of those ashes?
My Reflective Reponse:
I'm enamored with the idea of the phoenix. To me this mythological creature is a symbol of hope. I have often felt like I was stuck in the ashes, especially during rough times the I've faced. I'm so busy trying to avoid the landmines life has left me that I lose sight of the phoenix waiting to emerge-to be reborn. 2006-2012 have been filled with life altering events-many of them bad-death, divorce, betrayal. It was my longest journey in the ashes, but here it is 2012 and I made it. My phoenixes that emerged have names...Irene, Samuel, and Lillian Marcella.
